I have some problem with the building of the git version... now I am running under cygwin 1.7.8-1, can you help me to fix it with these settings? 
I tried different hints from the web (mount point, soft links...) but with no success.

I've been trying to reproduce this error in my system, but I
can't. There seems to be a problem in autoconf from cygwin with escaping
the space character from the path... Could you try the git version, to
see if the same problem happens?
