Follows what I wrote, taking a lot from the examples. unfortuantely, the plot is not updated, it keeps showing vertices and nodes I added outside the update_state function. The reason why it didn't work is because you did not take care of providing the positions for the new vertices. See attached for a version that does what (I think) you wanted.
